A Virginia woman got into a fight with her roommate before walking into her room, grabbing a gun and shooting him to death, police say.
Around 6 p.m. on Nov. 27, the Prince William County Police Department said they were called to a residence in Manassas, Virginia, to investigate a shooting.
Police said the victim, 49-year-old Travis Kelly Deardorff, and the accused, 56-year-old Lisa Gaye Myers, got into an argument while inside the house.
That is when Myers went into her bedroom and grabbed a gun before coming back out and shooting Deardorff in the lower body, officials said. After shooting her roommate, Myers immediately called 911.
When police arrived on the scene, they were arrested Myers without incident.
Deardorff was flown to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died from his injuries on Nov. 29, police said.
Myers was charged with second-degree murder and remains incarcerated, officials said.
