A double shooting in Virginia left one person dead, police said. Now, a suspect has been arrested and charged with murder.
Around 4 a.m. on Sept. 25, police in Portsmouth, Virginia, responded to a reported shooting on Carver Circle. When police arrived, they found two people shot with life-threatening injuries.
One of the victims, 41-year-old Lamont Brown, died from his injuries, Portsmouth police said.
Investigators aggravated 29-year-old Avery Peoples as a suspect. A month later, police announced this week that Peoples was apprehended.
He was charged with first-degree murder, malicious wounding and a host of other counts.
Police have not released a motive in the shooting.
