South Carolina Caretaker Arrested After Vulnerable Adult Found Dead On Bedroom Floor, Police Say
A man has been arrested in connection with a vulnerable adult who recently was found dead in a South Carolina residence the two shared, police said.
On the afternoon of July 24, Randy Moore, 66, led officers responding to a Summerville home about an unresponsive person to a bedroom, where they found a 73-year-old man dead on the floor in a diaper and partly covered with a blanket, WCSC reported, citing a police report.
According to officers, the elderly man’s body showed signs of rigor mortis.
Police noted the home was in disarray, with trash and papers littering the bedroom that had a bed infested with bed bugs and soiled with bodily fluids.
Moore allegedly told detectives he was taking care of the man, including by administering his medication.

He was being held on $50,000 bail at the Dorchester County jail.
