Prison parolee stole a car with an 11-month-old child inside from a Walmart parking lot, cops say
A man stole a car from a Walmart parking lot with an infant inside and now he faces criminal charges, police said.
Around 2 p.m. on March 2, police in Wichita, Kanas, were working near a Walmart when a woman told them her grey Pontiac Grand Prix was stolen. The woman said her 11-month-old child was in the vehicle, according to Wichita police.
Officers started to search and found the vehicle abandoned in another parking lot.
The child was inside the vehicle and unharmed, police noted.
Investigators identified Kevin Robertson, 51, as a person involved in the theft. They asked for the public’s help finding him. On March 8, Robertson was arrested, according to KWCH.
Robertson is currently on parole after being released from a Kansas prison, according to police.
He was charged with aggravated endangering a child and theft. Officers also arrested Karri Cowling, 44, in connection to the case. She was charged with obstructing apprehension of a felon, according to KWCH.
