Maryland Woman Found Dead After Her Husband Asks Police To Check On Her, Officials Say
A man in Maryland was taken into custody after he requested police check on his wife, who was found slain, according to authorities.
Around 1 p.m. on Dec. 9, Travis Wood, 33, went to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office and requested officers do a wellbeing check on his wife at the couple’s Waldorf home, WJLA reported.
Officers entered the home, where they found Shawnda Wood, 32, shot to death.
Travis Wood was arrested for first- and second-degree murder, assault, and firearm charges.
He was booked without bond into the Charles County Detention Center.
Authorities have not released further details about the case and the investigation is ongoing. The motive remains unknown.
