After months of being on the lam, law enforcement officials in Wisconsin announced the suspect wanted in connection with the alleged starvation death of his 12-year-old son has been arrested.
On Oct. 10, 2023, police found the malnourished and decomposing body of 12-year-old Jacarie Robinson in his Milwaukee home, according to a criminal complaint obtained by WDJT.
Investigators said the boy was so malnourished that the medical examiner was unable to positively identify the child.
Authorities said the boy had been dead for at least a week when he was found, but family members reported he had not been seen since Labor Day.
Robinson weighed 54 pounds at the time of his death and had several fractures to his arms, legs and ribs, officials said.
The criminal complaint states the boy’s father, 45-year-old Romuan Moye, had been keeping Robinson away from other family members for months.
Officials said Moye’s 21-year-old son found the child’s body after going to the house when his father stopped answering texts and calls. The child’s body was located beneath a blanket on the living room floor.
Authorities have been searching for Moye since the boy’s body was discovered and on Feb. 25, he was arrested in Milwaukee.

Court records obtained by WDJT state an “outside source” helped lead to the arrest of Moye.
Thomas Kotnik with the Special Investigation Fugitive Apprehension Division told WDJT, “What we thought was maybe a really small investigative lead for us, so something that we thought was maybe really small, ended up pointing us in the right direction.”
Michael Driscoll, a detective with the Milwaukee Police Department, added, “This is a dad who wouldn’t give his child food, for discipline. It’s incredibly sad.”

Moye was charged with multiple counts, including reckless homicide, chronic neglect of a child causing death, and failure to report the death of a child, authorities said.
If convicted on all charges, Moye faces up to 82 years in prison.
