Ex-police chief busted with child porn days before reporting to federal prison on child porn charge
A former police chief was supposed to turn himself in to federal prison on a child pornography charge. However, days before he reported, he was busted again — for having child porn.
Now, he has an additional 10 years added to his sentence.
Alexander P. Bebris was convicted of possession of child pornography and was sentenced to five years in prison, according to federal prosecutors in Wisconsin. He was allowed to remain free as his appeal was heard.
On Aug. 8, that appeal was denied, and he was ordered to report to prison, prosecutors noted.
But three days before he arrived, police searched Bebris’ home. There, they found a “substantial amount” of recently downloaded child pornography. Some of the victims were as young as 3-years-old, prosecutors said.
Bebris later pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography and was sentenced to an additional 10 years in prison.
Once he is released, Bebris will have to register as a sex offender.
Bebris was the Public Safety Chief in Oakwood, Ohio.
