A 95-year-old man’s remains were found buried in a yard in Nevada, and now police have arrested his daughter in Missouri in connection with his death.
On Aug. 25, police executed a search warrant at a home in Pahrump to look for human remains on the property, according to the Nye County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators dug up part of the backyard when they found human male remains in a “homemade coffin under the ground,” officials said.
An autopsy was completed and the body was identified as Bruce Brown.
Brown had not been seen or heard from since April, which is when investigators started looking into the case.
Brown’s daughter, 53-year-old Gennice Walker, “refused to cooperate” with the investigation, authorities said.
She was recently taken into custody in Kansas City, Missouri, on a larceny charge, according to officials. Following her arrest, officials executed the search warrant in Missouri.
Investigators said Walker allegedly continued to cash her father’s Social Security and VA benefits after he died.
