Georgia Woman Allegedly Shot Man Found Dead Near Roadway, Police Said
A man was found shot to death in a cul-de-sac in Georgia, and a woman was later arrested in connection with the slaying, according to police.
On Nov. 20, Erika Garcia, 35, was taken into custody and charged with felony murder and aggravated assault, the Gwinnett Daily Post reported.
This week, police in Gwinnett County, Georgia, announced they arrested Erika Garcia, 35, in connection to the case. She was charged with felony murder and aggravated assault. She is being held in jail without bond.
Garcia is accused of fatally shooting the victim, identified as Mario Acosta-Chavez, the previous evening in Duluth.
The shooting was reported around 8:40 p.m., officials said.
Police have not disclosed further details about the murder case, including how or if the suspect and victim knew each other.
Detectives are still determining a motive for the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
