An 88-year-old grandmother was found dead with a bag over her head and her hands tied. Police say the victim's granddaughter and her boyfriend are the killers.
Officers responded to a home in the 300 block of Juless Street in Danville, Virginia and found Elizabeth Morris Adkins, 88, dead, ABC 13 reported.
A warrant obtained by ABC 13 said that Adkins was found lying on the floor, a plastic bag tied around her head and her hands and feet tied together behind her back.
Adkins was found by her granddaughter, Lindsey Mae Johnson, and Johnson’s boyfriend, Nicasio Antonio Guzman, on Oct. 10, according to ABC 13.
They said that the last time they had seen Adkins was on Oct. 4, ABC 13 reported.
Investigators reviewed video that showed a vehicle resembling the one Johnson and Guzman owned pull up to Adkins home just after midnight on Oct. 10, according to ABC 13.
The warrant obtained by ABC 13 states audio can be heard of someone knocking on the home several times and a voice saying, “it’s Lindsey and Nico, it’s me, your granddaughter.”
The vehicle was there for a little over four hours before leaving the home, ABC 13 reported. Police said no one else was seen coming to or from the home until Adkins was found dead, according to ABC 13.
Johnson and Guzman were both arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder, ABC 13 reported.
