Police say a Philadelphia woman is in custody after she reportedly stabbed two random people, including a 1-year-old child.
Around 8:30 a.m. on April 13, Takeira Hester, 28, allegedly stabbed a 24-year-old woman in the chest, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.
In a press conference, Philadelphia Police Captain Frank Banford said, “This offender just runs up, quick stab, runs.”
A few hours later, officials say she tried to stab a set of 1-year-old twin boys who were in a stroller with their parents, but Hester could only reach one of the babies, who was stabbed in the arm.
The father of the baby chased Hester down the street, where she dropped a bag she was carrying, authorities said.
Police said they were able to use information from the bag to track down Hester.
Banford said, "It looked like this female just rushed up to them, nothing was said, completely random, tried to stab both children but got one child in each arm.”
Both of the victims were taken to the hospital for treatment and are in stable condition.
