71-year-old woman allegedly shot and killed a man during altercation in South Carolina

A 71-year-old woman has been arrested after she allegedly shot and killed a man during an argument.
On Oct. 13, deputies from the Pickens County Sheriff's Office responded to a residence in the 100 block of Zion Heights Court in Easley, South Carolina in reference to a report that someone at the residence had been shot.
When they arrived, deputies found Virginia Louise Cook, 71, who stated that she had shot the male resident following an altercation at the residence.
Deputies found Augustin Demsa inside a camper and dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the torso, according to the sheriff's office.
On Oct. 21, Cook was taken into custody and booked into the Pickens County Detention Center.
Cook has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. She is being held without bail as in South Carolina, only a circuit court judge can send bond on a murder charge.
