A 19-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy have been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting in Patterson, New Jersey, that police describe as a "coordinated attack" with multiple shooters at multiple locations.
Chelsee Ramirez and the unnamed juvenile were charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office.
Around 7 p.m. May 1, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to an intersection in the area in response to a report of a shooting, according to prosecutors.
When they arrived, officers found Jose Figueroa, 21, lying in the street with apparent gunshot wounds.
Figueroa was immediately transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased, prosecutors said.
The investigation determined the shooting was a "coordinated attack involving multiple shooters in multiple locations," prosecutors said.
Police say Ramirez and the 17-year-old were involved in planning and execution of the shootings, including transporting the shooters to the scene of the incident.
No further details were released by police and no other suspects were named.
Ramirez is currently in custody at the Passaic County Jail, and the teen suspect is in custody at the Essex County Juvenile Detention Center in Newark, New Jersey.
