A woman in Utah has been arrest on suspicion of murder after police say she allegedly shot and killed her friend as part of a “suicide pact.”
On April 30, officers responded to a home in Saratoga Springs, where they found a 21-year-old woman “who was obviously deceased,” according to an arrest affidavit obtained by KTVX-TV.
Officers reportedly also found a 9mm gun and a bullet near the victim’s body. The victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
The father of 21-year-old Heavenly Faith Garfield reportedly called police and said his daughter had shot her friend.
Investigators conducted interviews and learned that the victim “allegedly had a suicide pact with Heavenly Faith Garfield,” and they had been talking about it for “multiple weeks.”
A friend of the victim reportedly shared a text message with police in which the victim said she was “too scared to kill herself.”
According to the affidavit, “The friend told detectives that the victim had also told him that she intended to commit suicide with her friend, whom he identified as Heavenly Faith, and that one of them would kill the other, and then kill themselves."
