A man who crashed his car in West Virginia admitted to police he had just killed his father, according to a report.
Around 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 11, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a vehicle wreck on US 119.
At the scene, cops said they found 42-year-old Jeremy Scott Bennett.
Bennett told police that he had just murdered his father, Ray Bennett, at his residence on Arden Lane in Danville.
Police went to the residence and found Ray Bennett, who was dead from apparent gunshot wounds. Police did not say why Jeremy Scott Bennett allegedly killed his father.
Jeremy Scott Bennett was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, police said. He is being held without bond, as in West Virginia only a circuit court judge can set bail on a murder charge.
He was booked into the Southwestern Regional Jail, officials said.
